Seiko
Super Antimagnetic
Rare Textured Dial / 1957

Intro

Seiko Super manual winding watch from 1957. It is rare to find a Seiko from that era in such good condition. The textured dial is a real beauty to see in person.

Story

The first wrist watch model of Seiko with a center-second hand mounted concentrically along with the minute and hour hands. Earlier Seiko watches were designed with a small second hand located at the 6 o'clock position.

The Seiko Super was leading the domestic watch market in Japan in the first half of the 1950s. The first center-second model (a watch with the hour, minute, and second hands in the center) produced by the company, the Super was a market leader since its release in 1950 and has served as the model for further Seiko watch development (which evolved into the groundbreaking Seiko Marvel in 1956).
